30th Celebration: The Lunala Deck at a Glance
The anniversary set 30th Celebration brings a deck that uses its discard pile as ammunition: the more Energy cards there, the harder Lunala hits.
Note: card, attack and set names are given as printed on the German cards this list is based on, with the English Pokémon names where they differ.
The card: Lunala 080/128

- Stage 2, evolves from Cosmovum (Cosmoem), 160 HP, Psychic type
- Mitternachtsstrahl for one Psychic Energy, 20+: "This attack does 20 more damage for each Energy card in your discard pile."
- Mondsturm for three Energy: 120 damage
- Illustration: Bun Toujo
The whole evolution line comes from the same set: Cosmog 078/128 (60 HP) and Cosmovum (Cosmoem) 079/128 (100 HP). Ten Energy cards in the discard pile are enough for 200 damage, for a single Energy.
How the deck works
The strategy is simple: get as many Energy cards as possible into the discard pile, then strike with Lunala. These cards do the job:
- Prächtiger Mixer (Stürmische Funken / Surging Sparks): search your deck for up to 5 cards and put them in your discard pile. An ACE SPEC card, so only one per deck.
- Prismaturm (Wachsendes Chaos): once during each player's turn, that player may discard 2 cards from their hand to draw 1 card.
- Lunastein (Lunatone) (Mega-Entwicklung / Mega Evolution): the Ability "Lunarphase" discards a Basic Fighting Energy from your hand to draw 3 cards, as long as Sonnfel (Solrock) is in play.
- Sonnfel (Solrock) (Mega-Entwicklung / Mega Evolution): "Kosmischer Strahl" does 70 damage for one Fighting Energy, unaffected by Weakness or Resistance, but only works with Lunatone on the Bench.
- Mew ex (30th Celebration): the Ability "Gedächtnishelix" uses the attacks of any Pokémon on your Bench. That lets Mew ex attack with Lunala's attack when needed.

Is the deck worth it?
The Lunala line is cheap: Cosmog, Cosmoem and Lunala are regular cards from 30th Celebration, Lunatone and Solrock come from Mega Evolution. If you are opening 30th Celebration anyway, you will have the core cards together quickly. The rest of the list is Trainer cards from current sets.
