Black Bolt and White Flare Are Coming to China

The Unova double set is coming to China: Black Bolt and White Flare release there on 6 November 2026. Together they contain 348 cards, including more than 100 secret rares. They are based on our expansions Black Bolt and White Flare.

What is in the Chinese sets?

All 156 Pokémon from the Unova region return, both as playable cards and with alternate full-art illustrations. The sets are led by Zekrom ex 037/086 in Black Bolt and Reshiram ex 017/086 in White Flare. The double set also brings the Black White Rare rarity to China: textured cards with a monochrome design.

The Pokémon Trading Card Game has been available in mainland China since 2022. Compiled expansions are released there that gradually catch up with the Japanese releases.

Two cards that never existed before

The highlight is two Special Art Rares: N's Plan 173/086 from Black Bolt and Hilda 173/086 from White Flare. Both were designed exclusively for the Chinese sets and have not been released anywhere else in the world.

What does this mean for collectors here?

The Chinese sets are only released in China, and here they are only available through import retailers. The two new illustration cards are the main draw, because they do not exist in any other language.

You can find the Japanese original sets with us: the Black Bolt Display and the White Flare Display. For Chinese products, write to us via the contact form. More TCG news every day in our Discord.
