Delta Reign: The Electivire and Magmortar Deck
From Delta Reign comes a deck that ties Fire and Lightning into one loop. Magmortar attaches Energy, Electivire discards it for damage, and a set of Trainer cards brings it back to your hand. The set releases on 6 November 2026.
The attacker: Electivire 031/103

- Stage 1, evolves from Electabuzz, 140 HP, Lightning type
- Voltaischer Hammer for two Lightning and two Colorless Energy: you discard any number of Basic Energy from Electivire, and each one deals 60 damage. Six Energy make 360.
- Bodyslam for two Colorless Energy: 30 damage, and on heads your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed.
The catch: after every big hit, Electivire is left without Energy. The rest of the deck is built to attach it again quickly.
The engine: Magmortar and Buddy Boost

- Stage 1, evolves from Magmar, 140 HP, Fire type
- Ability Buddy Boost: once during your turn, you attach a Basic Fire Energy, a Basic Lightning Energy, or one of each from your hand to your Electivire and Magmortar in any way you like. Every Magmortar in play has the Ability, so four Magmortar can add up to eight Energy per turn.
- Heat Crash for two Fire and one Colorless Energy: 80 damage.
Add your normal Energy attachment for the turn on top. That way an Electivire that just discarded everything is back to four or more Energy on the next turn.
Magmar and Electabuzz are the Basic Pokémon for the line. According to the English preview scans, Magmar searches your deck for up to two Basic Energy with an attack, and Electabuzz puts up to two Basic Pokémon onto your Bench. Their German set numbers are not known yet. Magmortar is also in the Build & Battle Box as a promo, more on that in Delta Reign: the four prerelease promos.
The loop: getting Energy back
Voltaischer Hammer discards the Energy, and these cards bring it back to your hand so Buddy Boost can attach it again:
- Energie-Zugewinn (White Flare 082/086): up to two Basic Energy from your discard pile to your hand
- Maximale Angel (Prismatic Evolutions 116/131, ACE SPEC): up to five Pokémon and Basic Energy in any combination
- Tracys Unterstützung (Twilight Masquerade 155/167): up to three Pokémon without a Rule Box and Basic Energy
- Fermanca City (Journey Together 150/159): once during each player's turn, that player may take up to two Basic Lightning Energy from their discard pile. The Stadium does not return Fire Energy.

For the opening there is the Abenteuerlaterne (Delta Reign 090/103): it searches your deck for one Basic Fire and one Basic Lightning Energy. Working the other way are Lilias Kampfgeist (discard one card, draw until you have six in hand) and Hyperball (discard two cards, search for one Pokémon). That puts Energy in the discard pile early, ready to be retrieved later.
Second attacker and draw power

- Electivire ex (Destined Rivals 069/182, 280 HP): Dualblitz hits two of your opponent's Pokémon for 50 each. Starkstromdruck deals 180, or 280 with at least two Energy beyond the attack cost. Buddy Boost cannot power it up: the Ability only names Electivire and Magmortar, and the ex card has a different name.
- Reif der Tapferkeit (White Flare 080/086): +30 damage against your opponent's Active Pokémon ex, but only on a Pokémon without a Rule Box. So it belongs on Electivire, not on Electivire ex.
- Fezandipiti ex (Ascended Heroes): Umdichten draws three cards if one of your Pokémon was Knocked Out during your opponent's last turn, once per turn. In a pinch, Grausamer Pfeil hits any of your opponent's Pokémon for 100.
One risk: Electivire ex and Fezandipiti ex each give up two Prize cards when Knocked Out. The rest of the deck gives up only one.

Is the deck worth it?
Electabuzz, Electivire, Magmar, Magmortar and the Abenteuerlaterne are regular cards from Delta Reign. Only the two ex cards and the ACE SPEC Maximale Angel cost more. For newer players this is an affordable way into a deck that tops out at 360 damage. Every card in the set is listed in Delta Reign: the complete card list.

Source: PokeZentrum, 14 October 2026. Card texts taken from the card scans; Magmortar, Magmar and Electabuzz only as English scans. Attack, Ability and Trainer names stay in German as printed on the German cards, except Magmortar's, which come from the English scan. Four differences from the source: Buddy Boost attaches one Fire, one Lightning, or one of each. Fermanca City only returns Lightning Energy, and to the hand. Umdichten only draws after a Knock Out during the opponent's last turn, and once per turn. Reif der Tapferkeit does not work on Electivire ex. In each case this article follows the card.
