Delta Reign: the four prerelease promos

Note on names: the cards shown here are the German prints. Pokémon names are given in English, attack and Ability names stay in German, because the official English wording for these cards has not been published yet and we do not guess card text.

Mega Evolution Delta Reign releases officially on 6 November 2026, led by Mega Rayquaza ex. You can play it earlier though: from 24 October 2026 selected local game stores will sell the Build & Battle Box. On 28 September, The Pokémon Company officially revealed all four prerelease promo cards.

What is inside the Build & Battle Box

Build and Battle Box for Mega Evolution Delta Reign
The Delta Reign Build & Battle Box, in stores from 24 October 2026.

Every box contains four Delta Reign booster packs, a ready to play 40 card deck with key cards from new and earlier expansions, and one of four holographic promo cards. Which one you get is down to chance.

The prerelease format itself works differently from a normal game: you play a 40 card deck with four prize cards instead of 60 cards and six prizes. Games are shorter and newcomers get up to speed faster. You can find events near you through the event locator on the official Pokémon website.

Masquerain, MEP 111

Stage 1 Pokémon, evolves from Surskit, 110 HP, Grass type.

  • Furchterregendes Muster (1 Colorless Energy): 30 damage. During your opponent's next turn, the Defending Pokémon cannot attack.
  • Käferkomplott (1 Grass Energy): 50x damage. Show your opponent the bottom 7 cards of your deck. For each Pokémon you find there that has the Käferkomplott attack, add 50 damage.

Käferkomplott only pays off if more cards with the same attack sit in your deck. In Delta Reign that card is Spinarak 058/103. The attack looks random, but the deck list controls it.

Magmortar, MEP 112

Stage 1 Pokémon, evolves from Magmar, 140 HP, Fire type.

  • Ability Kumpelboost: once during your turn you may attach 1 basic Fire Energy card, 1 basic Lightning Energy card, or 1 of each from your hand to your Electivire and Magmortar in any way you like.
  • Brandstempel (2 Fire, 1 Colorless): 80 damage.

Kumpelboost is the most interesting of the four Abilities because it moves two Energy types at once. It explicitly names Electivire as a target, which points at the Fire and Lightning axis of the set.

Enamorus, MEP 113

Basic Pokémon, 120 HP, Psychic type.

  • Ability Inkarnationssolidarität: if you have Tornadus, Thundurus, Landorus and Enamorus in play, ignore all Colorless Energy in the attack costs of this Pokémon.
  • Couragiertes Herz (2 Psychic, 2 Colorless): 100+ damage. Against a Pokémon ex it does 100 more, so 200.

With the full quartet on the field, Couragiertes Herz costs only two Psychic Energy and hits Pokémon ex for 200. It is the most aggressive of the four promos, but it depends on a condition you have to build up first.

Kommo-o, MEP 114

Stage 2 Pokémon, evolves from Hakamo-o, 160 HP, Dragon type.

  • Ability Schuppenklappern: once during your turn, look at the top 6 cards of your deck and attach any number of basic Energy cards you find there to your Dragon Pokémon in any way you like.
  • Einhämmern (1 Lightning, 1 Fighting, 1 Colorless): 170 damage.

160 HP and 170 damage is solid for a promo card. Schuppenklappern is the more interesting part: Dragon Pokémon traditionally need two different Energy types, and the Ability solves exactly that problem straight out of the deck.

What this means for collectors

Prerelease promos carry the MEP code and appear only in the Build & Battle Box. They are not booster cards and will not show up in the regular set later. Getting all four means either four boxes and some luck, or buying singles after the prerelease.

The window is narrow: boxes reach stores on 24 October, the set itself on 6 November. For those two weeks the Build & Battle Box is the only legitimate way to hold Delta Reign cards. In our experience that is exactly the window in which prerelease promos are cheapest.

Delta Reign is the Western version of the Japanese expansion Storm Emeralda and brings over 135 cards. We are keeping an eye on it and will say so as soon as there is something to grab here.
