Magikarp Special Set: Korea Box Announced

Pokémon Korea has announced a new premium box with the Magikarp Special Set. It releases on August 16, 2026, exclusively in Korea, and is clearly aimed at collectors who want plenty of current Korean boosters in an elegantly designed box.

What is in the box?

At its core are 28 booster packs from the newest Korean expansions. It contains four packs each from these seven sets:

  • Mega Brave
  • Mega Symphonia
  • Inferno X
  • Mega Dream ex
  • Munikis Zero
  • Ninja Spinner
  • Abyss Eye

On top of that there is Magikarp-themed merchandise: card sleeves, a deck box, a playmat and a collector's album. The box itself shows Magikarp in a silver foil design on a deep blue background with the MEGA branding of the current era.

Date and price

The release is August 16, 2026 in Korea. The recommended retail price is 100,000 KRW, roughly 61 euros. For 28 boosters plus accessories that is a fair price, as long as you can get hold of the Korean edition.

To go with the box, the coveted Magikarp promo card 040/M-P is worth a look. It was handed out at the Pokémon Mega Festa 2026 in Seoul, the big event for Pokémon's 30th anniversary. Anyone who collected at least three stamps at the Pokémon GO stamp rally received the card. Demand was enormous: according to local media, around 40,000 people came to the stand on the first day, so distribution had to be stopped early for safety reasons and was later handled via an online form.

What does this mean for collectors?

The Magikarp Special Set is a Korea exclusive. There is no regular distribution for it in Europe; it can only be sourced through import. If you collect the Korean language variant or are specifically after current Korean boosters in a beautiful package, keep this box on your radar. For regular German retail it is not a standard item but a collector's piece that takes import effort.
