Mega Evolution: Pitch Black releases on July 17, 2026 and is the fifth expansion of the Mega Evolution era. Here is everything you need to know before release.

What is Pitch Black?

The set revolves around dark Mega Evolutions. The flagship and most sought-after card of the set is Mega Darkrai ex. It is joined by Mega Greninja ex, which enters the game through the separately available Premium Collection (in stores since July 3, 2026): with Mortal Shuriken it can place six damage counters directly, and its Ninja Spinner attack deals up to 200 damage.

  • Available now: Mega Greninja ex Premium Collection with 8 booster packs, a promo card in playable and jumbo size and a tech sticker

Display, ETB or single packs?

If you collect and want the best price per pack, go for the display. The Elite Trainer Box is worth it if you want accessories like sleeves and energy cards included right away. Single packs are the right entry point if you just want to try the set first.
