Mega Heatran ex: Japan's Gym Promos for November 2026

From 1 November 2026, Japan's Pokémon Card Gyms hand out Promo Card Pack Vol. 6. It is led by a brand-new card: Mega Heatran ex. The packs are not sold in stores, they are only given out at tournaments.

What is Promo Card Pack Vol. 6?

The Pokémon Card Gyms are Japan's counterpart to our Play! Pokémon Leagues. Anyone who plays in a Gym Battle there receives promo packs. Every pack of the sixth edition contains exactly one random card out of seven.

According to the official site pokemon-card.com, this is how you get the packs:

  • Gym Battle: one pack for taking part and one pack for winning the tournament. Participants also receive a 30th promo pack.
  • Rock-paper-scissors tournament: one pack for the winner, as long as at least 9 players take part.
  • “Deck as it is” battle: one pack for taking part, plus an Eevee promo card.

All seven cards

  • Mega Heatran ex 169/M-P (new): 300 HP. Its Ability reduces the damage from your opponent's attacks by 60 as long as Heatran has full HP. Its attack does 140 damage and 140 more on your next turn. Twice in a row, that is 280.
  • Astera 171/M-P (new, Supporter; German card name, English name not yet confirmed): Flip a coin. If heads, heal 150 damage from your Active Pokémon, if tails, heal 30.
  • Golett 166/M-P: new artwork. A different Golett artwork is in Storm Emeralda.
  • Gastly 168/M-P: new artwork. A different Gastly artwork is in Perfect Order.
  • Hariyama 167/M-P, Energy Recycler 170/M-P and Gwynn 172/M-P (German card name): reprints of cards that see play at official tournaments.

With a bit of luck, Astera 171/M-P heals up to 150 damage.

Will the cards come to Europe?

Mega Heatran ex and Astera have not been released internationally yet. They could show up later in an ex collection or an expansion, but that is not confirmed. Until then, the Japanese versions are only available as single cards from Japan.
