Pokémon 30th Anniversary: Charizard Collector's Box with Jumbo Charizard Revealed
To mark Pokémon's 30th anniversary, China is getting a special collector's item: the 30th Celebration Charizard Collector's Gift Box. It revolves entirely around the most famous Pokémon in the trading card world, Charizard, and pairs an oversized card in the classic design with a detailed 3D figure and 15 booster packs from the Chinese anniversary set. It releases on 16 September 2026.
What is inside the box?
The gift box is built as a collector and display piece. Here is what it contains:
- 1 holographic jumbo Charizard card in an oversized format of roughly 13.3 x 18.7 cm.
- 1 card stand with a 3D Charizard figure that shows off the jumbo card.
- 15 booster packs from the Chinese 30th Celebration set.
- 6 cards per pack in foil finish, plus a guaranteed Pikachu card in every pack.
That puts 90 cards from the anniversary set in the box, alongside the jumbo card and the figure as the centerpiece.
The jumbo Charizard card: a piece of nostalgia
The star of the box is the oversized Charizard card. It is the first reprint of the legendary card from the very first set and shows the iconic artwork by Mitsuhiro Arita, now with a holo effect and the anniversary logo. It carries the familiar stats from back then: Stage 2, LV.76, 120 HP and the Fire Spin attack for 100 damage. In the anniversary set it is numbered 137/103.
Anyone who grew up with the earliest sets will recognise this artwork instantly. That recognition is exactly what has kept Charizard the face of the brand for 30 years, and the oversized version literally puts it in the spotlight.
The 3D figure and the card stand
The jumbo card comes with a matching stand holding a finely detailed Charizard figure. The roaring dragon stands in front of the card and turns the set into a proper display piece for the shelf or cabinet, without having to take any cards out of their wrapping.
15 boosters from the 30th Celebration set
Beyond the display side, the box also holds real cards to open. The 15 boosters come from the Chinese 30th Celebration set, which brings together 30 reimagined cards from earlier expansions, each with exclusive holo effects and the anniversary logo. The packs feature Pikachu, Mew and Mewtwo, three faces that define the early Pokémon era.
Since every pack is guaranteed to contain a Pikachu card and all cards are printed in foil, the opening side is clearly built around the anniversary feeling rather than the usual chase hunt.
Why this box matters to collectors
Charizard products hold a special status in the collector scene. A set that reprints the first Charizard card as a jumbo and pairs it with a 3D figure hits the anniversary mood perfectly. It is less something to rip and more something to keep, display and show off.
Release, price and availability
The box launches first in China at a market price of around 100 euro (780 yuan). As a Chinese edition it is not regularly stocked in Germany and is only available through import. If you have your eye on this artwork, it pays to stay close early.
